Views Inside! Equip Arriving & Switchyard Vault Roof Poured. 20 Aug 2025 Giga Texas Update (06:35AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Stunning sunrise today and I flew early enough to get some great, details close in shots inside the W side of the main factory today! So much has happened in this part of the building since the Cyber rodeo in April 2022. Back then the entire 2nd floor was essentially open and empty space.

Now, there are new floors, partial mezzanines, robotic assemblers, work and assembly stations, tons of environmental and electrical equipment, large machinery & more production space. IT truly is amazing to see how much has changed, and today, we get some great and unique views of it all!

In the video introduction, I not only talk about the views inside the factory today, but also the continuing stream of trucks bringing in more production line equipment that is destined for several parts of the factory … this is an ongoing effort to prepare for the Cybercab and Optimus Robot production, along with upgraded Model Y production lines.

In the video, we see the equipment arriving, being placed on trailers for yard trucks to then bring to the factory and then cranes lifting up the equipment onto loading platforms for movement inside.

I also remind the viewer I’ll be headed to Starbase later this week, stopping at the Tesla Lithium Plant near Corpus Christi for a drone flight, and then on to watch and livestream flight 10 with Ellie in Space. I truly hope for a complete and fully successful flight as SpaceX need the data to continue developing the next generation of boosters and ships, plus the employees who have been working so hard need a big win!

A few other things to look for in the video:

The stating yards on the west side of the highway show movement of production line equipment is beginning to overtake the delivery of the equipment, which is a great sign they are installing everything quickly and we may be reaching the end of all the deliveries, indicating almost everything Tesla needs has arrived on site.

Crews completed pouring the concrete roof at the switchyard (aka Substation) underground vault today and now have plastic moisture barriers on top and spraying down the roof with water to ensure the concrete cures properly. It will take a few days for this process to finish, and then we will see crews beginning to remove the forms and supports for the roof, before beginning the process of conduit installation. Eventually, this vault will be covered over and then three large trailers installed on top. This will appear nearly identical to the existing vault and trailers on the south end of the switchyard.

Cortex 2 continues getting exterior wall texture and white stain application, while other crews work on installing the roofing material. There are some indications work is going on inside with trenching for utility pipe installation, while deliveries of these pipes and other materials were being made on the north end today. Grade work on the west side continues along with exterior trenching back fill over concrete pipes.

A lot more to see in this early morning flight images and the video later today! Thanks for your support and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
