100 Megapacks for Cortex 2 Plus 4 Fans & Cybercab Assemblies. 2 Feb 2026 Giga Texas Update (08:25AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Early & cool temps caused lots of vapor clouds from the Cortex Cooling plant, but it couldn’t hide all the construction underway or to see some big developments! Many Cybercab parts today, including possible front & rear bumpers, rear sub assembly & a lot of castings!

Cortex 2 at Giga Texas now has had 100 Megapacks delivered & plenty of room for many more & the chiller plant has the first 4 fans and shrouds installed. Tesla has said this AI Datacenter for Optimus will be operating by summer, & the progress onsite really seems to confirm they are well on their way to achieve this timeline!

We are now about 57 days from Cybercab start of production & we can see they are gearing up with many Cybercab parts today. Here we see a completed rear sub assembly on the E side of casting & many more racks with front under body (FUB) & rear sub frames (RSF).

Recent postings by Tesla and Bonne Eggleston, the head of Tesla’s 4680 battery production indicate the dry electrode battery manufacturing process has been solved for both the cathode and the anode, which is a major accomplishment!

The dry electrode manufacturing cuts cost, energy use & factory complexity while dramatically increasing scalability. Per Elon Musk, “Making the dry electrode process work at scale, which is a major breakthrough in lithium battery production technology, was incredibly difficult.”

I fly over much of the overall site today, so there is a lot to see, discover and discuss in the main video.
