2025 Giga Texas Year in Review plus a look ahead to what the new year will bring!

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2026, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

This video attempts to cover 12 months of extreme changes, additions, construction & more at Giga Texas. 2025 was truly a year of massive changes, new products like the Model Y Refresh, Standard & Performance and put into place most of the Cybercab production lines, supporting infrastructure & the start of Robotaxi service that will all come into their full potential in the new year. Along the way, Giga Texas passed 400,000 vehicles manufactured since initial production began in April 2021.

To better understand what is in store for 2026, I think it is important to recap all of what went on at Giga Texas in 2025 to better understand why I think 2026 will be such a breakout year for Tesla.

To do this, I will use a “snapshots” approach month to month to show many of the significant changes and developments at the factory and surrounding area in 2025.

There were many new production, manufacturing processes, put into place at Giga Texas in 2025, along with a strong company-wide shift towards AI which will define how Tesla operates and the products and services it offers in the coming years. There was a huge Cortex 1 Datacenter addition on the south end coming online with over 80,000 NVDIA H100 GPUs and inference compute stations for FSD training, a brand new Cortex 2 facility on the north end for Optimus training, along with the start of land clearing for a new separate factory meant to build 10 million Optimus robots annually. Tesla’s Robotaxi service started up in June 2025, building capabilities and gaining experience throught the last half of the year, and huge infrastructure projects were all set into motion with what you see in 2025 unfolding around Giga Texas.

As a reminder, the Cybercab is on track to begin production in April of 2026 and to do this interior expansion of the factory, to include more floors, mezzanines, supporting systems and large amount of new production line equipment were installed in 2025 to prepare for a smooth start of production in just a few more months!

I hope you enjoy what I am able to show and talk about in this video and that it helps you better understand the context and the enormity of that Tesla has done over the past 12 months to get ready for what is by all accounts expected to be a massive breakout year in 2026 for the company.

As always, thank you for your support and for watching along all year, and Happy New Year! I’m really excited at what we will see in 2026!
