2026 Subaru Outback Review | America Loves Wagons, Just Not Wagon-Wagons…

From Alex on Autos.

For those in denial, Subaru still actually calls the Outback a "Station Wagon," and that’s a compliment, not an insult. You see, Subaru’s high-riding wagon does something most SUVs can’t: it has a low roofline. That means if you *actually* use your CUV for outdoorsy things like kayaking, bicycling, etc. it’s much easier to get those things onto and off of the roof rack. It’s no wonder Subaru claims their roof rails are used more than twice as often as the competition’s. For 2026 the Outback got a complete redesign with new tech, hands-free driving (coming soon) and a next-gen Wilderness trim.
