From Out of Spec Podcast.
The 2027 Chevy Bolt just got a massive upgrade: Super Cruise is now available on both LT and RS trims for $3,255. At this price point, it becomes the cheapest hands-free driver assistance system available on any new car, EV or gas.
The system now includes automatic lane changes (just tap the turn signal and the car handles the pass) along with smart lane following that integrates with the built-in Google Maps navigation. It can even pre-position the car in the correct lane for exits, interchanges, and upcoming navigation routes, making highway drives much more relaxed and confident.
This is far beyond basic adaptive cruise control — it’s true hands-free driving on compatible highways, and one of the most affordable ways to get the technology in a car priced under $35,000.
One downside: the system still doesn’t provide lane centering on non-mapped roads, something many other GM models with Super Cruise can do.
In this video, I break down how the system works, show it in action, and explain why checking the Super Cruise option box might be a must-have on the new Bolt.
