Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2026, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
What started as a foggy, low cloud day ended up showing us a lot of big developments around the site! Today was not a production day (as is normal), but we do see a growing number of Model Y Standards staged over at the E side temp lot.

In the video introduction, we also talk about a significant delivery at the electrical switchyard expansion today. The 2nd (of eventually three) huge transformer was delivered via heavy weight trailers today and then slid on rails over and onto the supporting base and catch basin. This is a critical part of greatly expanding the electrical capacity at Giga Texas to support a growing factory and AI Datacenters.
Speaking of which, I also talk about some significant developments over at the newest AI Datacenter, Cortex 2 that relate to the work at the electrical switchyard expansion. On the east side of the facility, parts 1 and 2 of the chiller plant are showing some significant progress, with part 1 getting a multi-level fan enclosure being erected using the FRP beams we saw delivered a few videos ago, and new deliveries of pipes with holes drilled in them which is another big part of the cooling system.
Part 2 is getting wall forms and rebar for the perimeter and more work on the four manifold structures near the exterior walls of the facility. This system will be instrumental in keeping the 500 MW AI Data Center computers cool during operation
On the north. End, deliveries of electrical equipment and cabinetry was being made, and on the west side, deliveries of supporting beams for what is likely a third Megapack installation along with deliveries of even more transformers. Work continues preparing for more supporting screw piers along the entire W side to further expand the power systems for this gigantic 500 MW AI Datacenter … or as some have called it, Optimus University!
All of this is being built to hopefully see Cortex 2 come on-line sometime in this summer!
On the south end of the Crash Testing S end construction work & another clearing developing in the far NE. Lots to see today!
