Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Happy Wednesday, especially for those wanting an update on Cybercabs … I saw about 60 of them in two groups in the outbound lot today … the largest grouping yet! Cybertruck production seems to be underway again today, extending over the past week as the production line comes up to begin meeting the renewed demand caused by the $59,990 AWD Cybertruck.
Model Y production line upgrades and maintenance seem to be mostly completed as some test bodies were being moved to recycling on the east side and I saw a few vehicles beginning to exit the factory as my drone flight time ended today.

In the video introduction, I talk about a few items of note, beginning with the rains that came through the area over the weekend and through Monday, leaving the site as a muddy mess and affecting some of the construction work around the premises. Unfortunately, more rain is in the forecast at the end of the week and weekend, so we shall see how the construction areas hold up.
I also talk about the historic Artemis II lunar flyby on Monday, setting the record for the farthest humans have travelled from the earth (breaking the Apollo 13 record from 1970) and the first close encounter with the moon in over 53 years! Some of the imagery now coming back to earth has been truly stunning and I show some of these in the intro!
On the Cybercab front, today about 60 of them were arranged in two groups at the outbound lot, many (if not most) with steering wheels, meaning these are most likely for the testing fleet around the country. These are likely not the final production versions for passengers, but the sheer number is a good indication how the production line is working inside the factory.
I also show many Cybertrucks in the outbound lot today and although I did not capture the activity of the Cybertrucks exiting the Cybertunnel on the video, I did visually see this happening while I was flying, but the drone was not in the correct location at that time. I’d say somewhere around 100+ Cybertrucks were at the outbound lot today along with about 60 Cybercabs! Model Y production was just beginning to ramp up today after almost a two-week downtime for maintenance and upgrades on the line.
While everyone is thinking about Cybercabs, FSD, the new Advanced Technology Fab and more, don’t forget Tesla Optimus needs a place for his body to be built, and that new 10M/year factory is seeing a lot of foundation work today on the north end of Giga Texas!
Here. we were able to see significant activity with GeoPier construction, foundation grading on the central slab area and more earthwork on the far north and south ends of the site. More gravel and crushed concrete material was being brought to the foundation area, particularly the gravel was coming from off-site via center-dump trucks off the highway.
Finally, I noticed several Model Y scrap bodies, most painted but devoid of any attached finishing materials or glass were being moved to the east recycling yard. It appears Tesla was running some tests with Model Ys as the production line work is completed and it is gearing up to resume production.
