In this video, Dave walks the New York International Auto Show floor with Sip from @Notch_EV to give you a first real look at the US-spec 2027 Kia EV3. While they couldn’t drive it, they take a deep dive into the fit, finish, tech, and whether this could replace the Niro EV in Kia’s lineup.
You’ll see both battery options—58.3 kWh (≈220–225 EPA miles) and 81.4 kWh (up to ~320 EPA miles in FWD) – along with the E-GMP 400V architecture, offering roughly 10–80% DC fast charging in about 21-31 minutes (up to ~150 kW). FWD models are expected to do 0-60 mph in around the mid-7 second range, though there’s no official information yet on AWD performance. The video also covers trims (Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and a sportier GT).
Inside, Dave checks out the dual-screen setup (with apps like YouTube), wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, powered/heated/cooled front seats, a small insulated frunk, sunroof, and a practical charge port location. A few surprises: it’s labeled a “prototype” at the show despite being on sale in Europe, and Kia reps didn’t have full details on the Nightfall Edition. He also notes the usual Hyundai/Kia 12V quirks – so it’s worth keeping a 12V charger on hand.
