Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Low clouds, mist and forecast rain showers caused me to head up to Giga Texas very early and as a result, we got some great video and images inside the west part of the factory today!
This early morning view inside shows VIN #001 Cybercab on display in the main entrance, nice close views of the Cybercab drive motor assembly line above the main entrance, and busy Cybertruck production line robots assembling doors, tailgates, hoods and the bodies in white were in full swing today along with what appears to be many structural battery packs!

A few other items of interest today:
We see many Cybertrucks in the outbound lot and more coming through the Cybertunnel which is an indication production is ramping up to meet the substantial orders that were generated during the 10-day $59,990 Standard AWD Cybertruck event in February. Initial deliveries are expected to begin in June, so if that holds, then production needs to begin ramping in May, and we are seeing just that!
More Cybercab production is evident too today, along with several reports and social media images and videos yesterday of open transport trucks carrying Cybercabs outside the Austin area for the first time. Even the Tesla Semi got into the action, doing a photoshoot with 8 Cybercabs on a transport trailer being pulled by the Semi by the flag poles.
Model Y production was also in high gear early today, with many located in the outbound lot being picked up by truck transports.
The new Optimus factory construction continues with a new permit now referring to the site as the North Campus Manufacturing & with a new address using the soon to be constructed new Harold Green Road. The original Harold Green Rd was renamed to Tesla Rd back in 2022.
Foundation work is expanding with now three grade levels visible, GeoPier work, footings, concrete & more!
The Test Track on the far southwest corner is making progress with most of the new drainage pipes installed and trenched covered over. In the video introduction, we talk about the various locations this track was planned for, including a site plan document that shows the same basic configuration to the current site, but located northeast of the battery cathode plant in the “lone tree” field. This is yet another example of how permits may be filed with site plans and design documents, only to find out the location and/or the design has been altered by the time the ground is being prepared for construction.
