The 2026 Toyota RAV4 goes all-hybrid for what Toyota is calling a "next generation," though the platform and exterior dimensions carry over from the outgoing model — it’s the styling, interior tech, and powertrains that have been heavily revised. The standard hybrid pairs a 2.5L four-cylinder with two motor-generators for 226 horsepower front-wheel drive or 236 horsepower with electric AWD and an EPA-rated 39-44 mpg, while the new plug-in hybrid jumps to 324 horsepower, 54 miles of EV range, a 5-second 0-60 time, and 41 mpg combined — making it simultaneously one of the quickest and most efficient compact crossovers you can buy. We measured 7.3 seconds 0-60 and 43.5 mpg real-world in the Limited hybrid AWD we tested, against a $33,495 starting price.
