Aloha — I took a full site tour of Maui’s only Tesla Supercharger and walked through everything electrical, pricing, and weirdness so you don’t have to. I charge an LFP Model 3 here (top‑balancing at ~30 kW with the climate blasting) — it was 48¢/kWh at 1:00 pm and 36¢/kWh off‑peak from 9:00 pm–8:00 am. This place is the island’s fastest charger (version 4 posts, up to ~325 kW).
I show how the medium‑voltage feed comes in, the transformer stepping to 480/277 3‑phase, and the 1600 A switchgear feeding three Tesla cabinets (these are the 387 kVA cabinets built Dec 2022). It’s a 12‑stall site (8 + 4), but cabinet 2 was down while I was there, the post labeling is oddly scrambled (2A/2B/2C/2D, 3A/3B/3D/3C), and there are extra conduit stub‑ups that look like planned expansion. Magic docks and payment terminals are installed but inactive. I also point out nearby amenities (Lowe’s, Target, Domino’s, Starbucks) and do a little plane spotting — because Maui.
