It’s time for a China vs Italy drag race!
We’ve got our hands on the Zeekr 8X SUV, and it’s going up against the infamous Lamborghini Huracan Performante!
The question is, can an SUV really come close to beating a sports car over the 1/4-mile?! Let’s take a closer look at the stats.
Starting with the Lamborghini, it’s powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that delivers 640hp and 600Nn. This power is sent to all four wheels via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1482kg. As of today, it’s worth around £180,000.
Then we come to the Zeekr. Under the bonnet sits a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine… But this is used to power three electric motors! These combine to produce an incredible 1,400hp and 1,410Nm, with this power sent to all four wheels. It’s incredibly heavy, though, tipping the scales at 2,820kg! However, it’s much cheaper than the Lambo, costing just £54,300!
So the Zeekr is well up on power, but will the huge weight difference prove decisive? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!
