Now I know that some might immediately reply with EV that have solar panels integrated into the vehicle, but what I am referring to is an EV that supports a direct-from-solar charging functionality. While that could be integrated into the vehicle, I am not discounting an EVSE that plugs in directly to solar panels and feeds that DC power directly into the EV’s battery. This not only provides an easy option for EV owners to charge directly from their home solar arrays, it is also a vast improvement in efficiency over converting solar DC to AC and converting that AC back to DC for charging the battery.
