At the U.S. launch of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, Editor-in-Chief Patrick George got plenty of seat time with this sleek new 374-mile electric sedan. But he also spent time with the new MBUX Virtual Assistant. It uses generative AI, based on models like ChatGPT4o and Microsoft Bing Search, to control some functions and answer your questions in a conversational way. And guess what? It’s not perfect yet, but it’s pretty great—and PG kind of missed it when he had to give the CLA back.
