From EV Review Ireland.
Today we’re at Resorts World in Las Vegas for a truly unique experience: my first ever ride in a Zoox autonomous vehicle. This isn’t just a self-driving car; it’s a purpose-built, ground-up electric mode of transport designed without a steering wheel or pedals. Backed by Amazon, Zoox is launching its carriage-style robotaxis to redefine urban mobility. We’re going to explore the sensor-packed exterior, the spacious 4-seater interior, and see exactly how it handles the unpredictable traffic of the Las Vegas Strip. If you haven’t already subscribed, please do so, hit the like button, and let me know in the comments—would you trust a car with no driver? Let’s get started!

Features
Purpose-Built Ground-Up EV: Unlike retrofitted autonomous cars, Zoox is designed from scratch with a bidirectional driving capability, meaning it has no defined front or back [05:50].
Massive Battery Capacity: Features a 133 kWh battery, roughly double the size of a Tesla Model 3, allowing it to operate continuously for up to 16 hours [05:39].
4-Corner Sensor Suite: Equipped with multiple LiDAR units, cameras, and radars on all four corners, providing 360-degree 3D mapping with a range of 150 meters [06:23].
Carriage-Style Seating: A spacious 4-passenger interior where riders face each other. It includes a "starlight" LED fabric-lined roof and individual climate/music controls for each passenger [01:50], [06:47].
Safety & Redundancy: Powered by dual redundant computers using the Nvidia Drive platform, and features specialized "horseshoe" airbags designed for the unique seating arrangement [06:37], [06:54].
Four-Wheel Steering: This allows for an incredibly tight turning radius of 8.4 meters, making it highly maneuverable in dense urban environments [05:50].
