Today I’m doing the most pointless test you can do with a gigantic electric transporter:
I drive the Volkswagen e-Caravelle at up to 150 km/h on the Autobahn.
This e-Caravelle comes with:
64 kWh battery (new versions now have 71 kWh)
160 kW rear-wheel drive
Huge size, huge frontal area, and very high consumption
So yes — this makes absolutely no sense.
But it’s still interesting to see:
How stable it is at 150 km/h
How fast the battery drains
Real consumption at full Autobahn speed
Acceleration behavior and power limits
Why you really shouldn’t drive this fast with this car
Short version:
It drives surprisingly well… but the range is painfully low.
