2026 Mazda CX-5 First Drive | The CX-5 Revival Is Just Beginning

From Alex on Autos.

The CX-5 was in need of some love and Mazda has delivered! For 2026 we see the carryover of a name and an engine but just about everything else is new; inside and out. If this is what you use for a family car the extra room found in the back seats is going to be welcome and a large cargo opening never hurts either. For the drivers, the new screens (12.9 or 15 inches) are going to feel pretty different from last year not just in size but also in software. There are far fewer buttons to be found inside and many fuctions are ablt to be activated via voice command thanks to Google Built In. If there’s a downside it comes in the powertrain department. That’s not because the 2.5l 4 cylinder engine is bad, but in a highly competitive class it stands out that, for the moment, this is the only available power plant.
