From EV Texans.
**Is the Cross Roads Walmart EV charging site finally ready?** ⚡️
I stopped by the **Walmart Supercenter (#5707)** in **Cross Roads, Texas** (off US-380) to check on the progress of their high-speed EV charging upgrade. This site has been under construction as part of the "Round 2" kick-off for the Dallas area, and it looks incredibly close to being energized!
In this video, I take a look at the current installation of the **Alpitronic 400kW units**. From what I can see, the hardware is 100% in place, including the transformer and the meter. However, there’s a catch—there is currently **no power to the meter**.
### **What we’re seeing at the site:**
* ✅ **Hardware:** All cabinets and dispensers are fully installed.
* ✅ **Infrastructure:** Transformer is on-site and the meter is in the socket.
* ⚠️ **Status:** No power display on the meter yet.
* ⚠️ **Finishing touches:** ADA and EV charging signs still need to be mounted.
Are they just waiting on a final city permit or the utility company to flip the switch? Given how finished the site looks, we could be seeing these chargers go live any day now! This is a massive addition for EV drivers along the 380 corridor.
**Stay tuned to EV-Texans** for more updates as we track the rollout of the Walmart Energy network across North Texas!
