BREAKING: Tesla Cybertruck RWD Launches – More Range, WAY More Price, Somewhat Disappointing 🤷‍♂️

Tesla has received a ton of flack on the Cybertruck since its eventual launch just about 1.5 years ago. Price and range were nothing like expected, and on top of that, you could only get a $20k upcharge Foundation Series for nearly a year.

When the Cybertruck did eventually start delivering to customers, it came in only 2 variants, the Cyberbeast and the Dual Motor. A third trim was listed simply as RWD, which was announced at an increase of $21k from the original unveiling. Following extensive press on the official launch of Tesla in UAE, we just received details on the new Long Range RWD Cybertruck.

This new Cybertruck comes stripped down, as expected, but also has 2 things that we weren’t expecting, more range, and a much larger price tag. The $61k price announced when customer deliveries started will actually go up another $9k, and this stripped out truck will come at $70k.

So what do you get for $70k? The good news is you get 350 miles of range, 362 miles with a soft tonneau cover option of an additional $750. It still has many of the Cybertruck features like 48v architecture, steer by wire, rear wheel steering, etc. But it also stripped out a ton of big ticket items.

Them truck no longer comes with air suspension, power outlets in the cab or the bed, L track in the bed, premium lights on the front, back and in the bed, half the speakers, no cooled seats, only front heated seats, tactical gray interior only, fabric seats, no vault, and much more. This is an extensive list of items stripped out and to see the actual price come in even $9k higher than expected, or $10k less than the fully equipped AWD is disappointing.

Is this the actual RWD Tesla was promising? Or is this truly a new option, priced and equipped in a way to push consumers towards the AWD version?

Either way, this is not likely to be an extremely popular option, and what concerns me the most is that this version needed to deliver on price to ensure a future for the Cybertruck. Now that is all too uncertain.
