It’s time to go behind the scenes at one of the craziest days of drag racing in Carwow history!
A few months back, Mat and the team flew over to Dubai to organise a whole load of insane drag races. They only had two days to find the right cars, organise the races, and convince the owners that this was actually a good idea!
With this in mind, it’s time to go behind the scenes to see exactly what happens when the Carwow team try to set up a load of hypercar drag races on another continent!
From the showroom at Pupil of Fate Motors to the insane Tilal Swaihan drag strip in Abu Dhabi, the pressure was on. The team had to manage a convoy of 23 trucks and a massive collection of hypercars, all while hoping the owners would actually let Mat and Sam get behind the wheel. Imagine owning a £10,000,000 hypercar and letting someone else pelt it down a drag strip!!!
Thankfully, it all paid off! We finally settled the "wrong Jesko" debate with a rematch between the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (running on E85 for 1,600hp) and the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. Plus, we staged a battle of the W16 engines between the Super Sport and the ultra-rare Bugatti Divo.
But that’s not all! We also hit the track with a load of other cars, including a Ferrari SF90 XX, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Koenigsegg Regera, Ferrari Purosangue, and the absolutely colossal Yangwang U8!
It was total chaos, from overheating transmissions to running out of high-octane fuel, but we managed to film some of the greatest drag races we’ve ever run! Stick with Mat and the team to see what happened on the shoot!
