Cybercab Castings & Crash Tests & Cortex 2 Deliveries! 22 December 2025 Giga Texas Update (07:45AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Welcome to the latest Giga Texas flyover as we kick off Christmas week! The outbound lot is completely empty this morning, confirming that Cybertruck production is paused for the rest of the year. But don’t worry—the factory isn’t sleeping. Massive construction and expansion work is still in full swing across the site.

A few highlights:

Starting far south of the river, we’re seeing ongoing site clearing, earthwork, and water management infrastructure. Trenches are being backfilled with large pipes, preparing the foundation for future expansions.
Around the mega-casting area, activity is buzzing. Dozens of fresh Cybercab unibody castings are visible—some stacked neatly in racks, others waiting on the ground. Nearby, recycling operations are in full effect, processing scrap and runners from the casting process.

Over by the crash testing area, even more Cybercab prototypes are parked outside. Today we get some fantastic, uncovered views, showing off those sleek lines and giving us a clearer look at Tesla’s upcoming robotaxi.
The new Cortex 2 supercomputer data center is making huge progress.

Additional screw piers are being installed around the expanding transformer platform, and long cable trays are now running all the way up to the roof. At the chiller plant, workers are laying out rebar for the massive central support slab. Seeing humans for scale really drives home just how enormous these AI training facilities are becoming!

And finally, at the north end of the factory, Santa’s delivering early! Massive equipment containers are arriving, so large they barely squeeze through the oversized receiving doors. These huge deliveries signal big upgrades coming soon to Giga Texas.

Even with production on holiday break, the pace of expansion here never slows. Giga Texas is gearing up for an explosive 2026. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the skies over Austin … see you in the new year for more updates!
