Cybercab Testing, Site Clearing, ATD Construction & Sunrise! 23 Feb 2026 Giga Texas Update (07:10AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

We start off a very special day today with a nice sunrise & evidence of more overall site prep and reshuffling activities to prepare for major construction projects on both sides of the central highway.

In the video introduction, I talk about a special tour I was able to participate in today inside the factory, specifically seeing the Cybercab production area and processes.

I was not able to take photos or videos inside, but I can say that a tremendous amount of progress has been made to prepare for production in volume coming up in April, and that everyone inside was very happy with the progress and how the production line and operations were working out.

The “unboxed” processes we have all heard about are very evident and it was fascinating to see how everything is done and then the 5 individual sections of the Cybercab are brought together and fashioned into a completed vehicle ready to roll out of the factory and over to the outbound lit for final processing.

I also talk about the lower cost AWD Standard Cybertruck and what the expectations are for the production of these trucks. Hopefully the increase in orders translates into a higher output of Cybertrucks, better utilizing the production lines and increasing the number of customers who own one of these amazing vehicles!

Additionally, I talk about the progress at Cortex 2, especially with the cooling and electrical systems, but also the delivery of the false flooring for the interior west hallway area where all the computers will be installed. Work on the cooling system pipes and temporary cooling trailer units also is making quick progress and it all seems on track to begin operations later this spring and by summer.

A few other highlights from today include:

The new rental equipment yard on the northwest side near Tesla Road is being filled with equipment and workshops all being relocated from the far northeast lone tree field site. The reason for this relocation work, and the nearby crushing operations of all the old concrete slabs, is to prepare for a major new construction project which will be a stand-alone factory for the Optimus Robots.

The location has been changed over the past few months since the Shareholder meeting and the lone tree field, the hill and valley section between lone tree and the large rectangular field, and the rectangular field itself is where this massive new factory will be located.

On the far southeast, we see more work on the River Road extension and the water pipe installation that will wrap around the east side to the north, past the battery cathode building and up to lone tree field. On the southeast clearing, a new rectangular excavation is being created today … for what I am unsure right now.

Finally, we see Cybercabs at the north end of the crash testing facility getting ready for testing. These are production units that have come off the line and are part of the certification crash testing process.

Over the next few weeks, we should see many more of these coming from the line for testing as part of the iterative process Tesla uses to both ensure safe operation of the cars, but also for product improvement.
