“EV’s are too expensive” is something I see, something I get on the channel a lot.
Also, I know this is a small supermini, how could this be the most important car of 2025?
Well, the fact is that the average new price of a car in the UK is approximately £37,000!
Anyone complaining about the prices of EVs on the UK market clearly hasn’t looked at a dealership list price for any car for a very long time. The Dacia Sandero is not a £5,995 car anymore. It’s over £15,000 (When I was filming this, it was £14,714). A base model petrol VW Golf STARTS at £27,000 now.
So when the Leapmotor T03 entered the scene, I was actually impressed that not only do we have technically the new cheapest car on sale in the UK (sort of), but the fact it was fully electric I think blows that myth out of the water.
But the question is: does it actually have the ability to compete with something like a Dacia Spring (another very cheap EV on the market), or are there too many compromises that all cheap cars have? Let’s find out!
