From Battery Life.
Description:
Today I’m testing the Kia EV4 with the 81 kWh battery (FWD, 150 kW, heat pump, 19” wheels) at a constant 110 km/h GPS.
This is the realistic “mixed driving” scenario — not full Autobahn at 130 km/h, but the kind of speed many people actually drive on highways and country roads.
🌡 Temperature: ~2°C
🔥 Climate: 22°C driver only
🛞 19” wheels
🔋 Charged to 80%
⚡ Battery preheated via navigation
Battery cooling after DC charging:
~1 kW for 5–7 minutes
Then reduced gradually
Finished after ~17 minutes
Battery preheating worked properly during this test (unlike the 130 km/h run) and activated automatically when navigating to the charger.
🚗 Driving Impressions at 110 km/h
✔ Noticeably quieter than 130 km/h
✔ Very comfortable on smooth roads
✔ Steering assist & cruise control work great
✔ Heating only ~660 W in driver-only mode
❗ Typical Kia assistance systems need manual deactivation each drive
❗ Navigation arrival estimate inaccurate at reduced speed
