Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
After a bit of a break for the Thanksgiving holidays, I’m back at Giga Texas and its’ obvious that winter has arrived as it was much colder at the site, so I have to get used to bundling up again to fly! Despite the conditions, there was truly a lot of activity around the site today and I think I was able to capture most of it. In this video today. I hope you enjoy what I was able to include in the video today!

In the video introduction, I talk about how FSD is really hitting it’s stride and something different is now happening world-wide as official tests with the public and the media are now underway all across Europe, with more soon to follow, including public tests and media coverage in Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and even all the way over in South Korea!
So far, the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with rave reviews about how confident this version is, how well it drives and how it is able to determine and effectively interact with an ever-changing environment, include the “challenging” roads and conditions in Europe. I’m excited to see people in Europe being able to have this on their cars soon!
Back in the United States, more reviews of FSD, but in snow, ice and bad weather conditions are showing equally amazing capabilities and handling the conditions very well. Most of the reviewers were simply awe-struck at how well FSD did in some of the worst conditions imaginable, and since this is all part of the same FSD version and software stack, I find it extremely encouraging that FSD is ready for world-wide deployment!
Finally, I provide a personal example of how FSD is changing lives and restoring control to people who are beginning to be unable to drive or lack the confidence to travelling. My sister Sue and her husband recently purchased a Model Y with FSD specifically to regain their independence, confident and ability to go places when and where they wanted. About a year ago, her husband has a stroke, which has limited his driving ability somewhat.
FSD has been a godsend for them, and they had the confidence to drive over 1,300 miles from California to Texas to spend Thanksgiving with me. They are using FSD right now to drive back to California. Without FSD, this was just not a trip they would have attempted. Really appreciate the work Tesla and its AI teams have done to make this possible!
A few other things to look for today include more Caisson work at multiple locations, a very active outbound lot with new Model Y’s and Cybertrucks, We see many new Cybercab castings on the east side of the main factory, a Model Y Body-in-White next to paint stands on the north side of the paint shop, and more equipment and production line items for the Cybercab being delivered today. We also see more work on the east clearing, including water drainage & old tree mulching underway.
In addition, we check out the far SW construction area & material storage yards, a new electrical system installation N of the End-of-Line facility and up at the Cortex 2 facility, the new chiller plant & water tank construction areas are making a lot of progress too!
Finally, the electrical switchyard expansion is getting the first of its A-frames assembled today there is a new construction workshop just north of the DIE shop being assembled, the Cathode chiller plant base was wrapped in plastic again (seems to be a winter weather thing as this has happened the past two winters) & employees were preparing the crash testing facility with a dirt section for rollover tests!
