Skywell is one of a handful of brands that has arrived in the UK from China, all aiming to muscle into the market and take sales away from the traditional players – the likes of Ford, Vauxhall, Skoda, Kia and so on.
It may be new to we Brits but the firm has been in existence for 25 years. It’s one of China’s bus manufacturers, and part of the Skyworth group, which is one of the world’s largest consumer electronics companies. It knows how to build stuff, in other words.
Skywell offered me a loan of its BE11 – the first in a planned wave of new cars heading to Britain wearing the Skywell badge. Here’s what I thought of it…
