Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Rainy, cloudy morning and I flew today to get ahead of forecast high winds and rain showers the rest of the week. Despite the conditions, plenty of interesting details today including expansion of three major construction areas around the overall site and Cybercab activity as the clock ticks toward official production start in just over 3 weeks from today!

In the video introduction I discuss another major construction project going on at Giga Texas a new test track complex (finally)! The location of this new track is the far southwest corner of the site. I show where this is located and the rough outline of the construction area and a Grok hypothetical illustration (not the actual planned project) of what might be built here.
I’ve always thought this was a great place for a track, but I was hoping for an off-road portion for Cybertruck … I hope that is included in the final design!
I also talk about the activity of the Cybercabs around the site today. We recently saw 25 of these on site (my 3 March video) and now they have been moved for their next use, with 13 at Crash Testing, 5 at the factory exit point and the rest being loaded up on covered transports, possibly headed out to do more Robotaxi testing ahead of the April official start of production! Others were driving around the site too!
In the main video, I was able to get nice views of the continuing work to expand River Road around the southeast and east of the main site, including the removal of some old workshops and structures, work to remove the old concrete truck maintenance facility and expanded earthwork on the east and northeast of the battery cathode plant.
While reviewing the River Road expansion project, I also fly to the far north to see that most of the old rental equipment lot has now been relocated, new earthwork in the old sand and gravel areas, including more access roads to allow for more construction and continued work to remove the filtered dirt in the large rectangular field to prepare the ground for future construction.
I still think there will be a few more months of ground preparation before we will begin to see actual construction, but everything we see right now are important precursors to construction.
