This Lexus was supposed to be dead.

The dealer said the hybrid battery was bad.
The state said it was unsafe to drive.
The fix? $8,000 ,not worth it.

So instead of diagnosing it, they offered $2,000 on trade and told the owner to move on.

This is a 2008 Lexus LS600hL a $115,000 V8 hybrid that was one of the most advanced cars Lexus ever built. Brake-by-wire. Air suspension. A transmission that barely anyone understands. And today? A car most shops won’t touch.

In this episode, I try to answer one simple question:

Is this Lexus actually dead… or did everyone give up too early?

We chase warning lights, uncover questionable past repairs, fight a parking brake designed by a supervillain, gamble on cheap air suspension, and hit a point where the only thing left to blame is the one part that kills these cars financially — the hybrid battery.
