This Non-Round Steering Wheel Is Actually Genius

Mercedes’ steer-by-wire EQS has no physical connection between the yoke and the wheels, which sounds like the sort of idea dreamt up by someone who hates driving. And yet, it’s kind of brilliant. It makes the EQS feel sharper, more alert, and much easier to place while making driving more effortless. The regular EQS suddenly feels old-fashioned by comparison. I’m not ready to call it the future until I’ve driven it properly on the road, but after this first taste, it’s pretty convincing.
