Description:
After 2 years and 2 weeks with my Volkswagen ID.7 Pro, I received several messages claiming that DC fast charging gets worse over time.
So I tested it properly.
In this video, I:
Preheat the battery
Charge from 7–80% at Ionity
Compare the charging curve from 2023 vs 2025
Check if battery degradation or software updates (4.0 → 5.6.3) changed anything
💡 Result:
The charging performance is basically identical.
No loss in peak power, no slower charging, and 10–80% still takes ~26 minutes.
