How much does it really cost to road trip in an EV compared to a gas vehicle?

In this video, I break down the real-world cost of taking my Rivian R1T Quad Max from Illinois to Branson, Missouri and compare it to what the same trip would have cost in my 2016 Mazda CX-9 AWD and even a comparable high-performance gas truck.

This was not a perfect-weather test either. We dealt with strong wind, rain, highway driving, and fast charging, which had a big impact on efficiency. I show what I actually paid to charge the Rivian, what the same road trip would have cost in gas, and whether EV road trips are really cheaper once you factor in weather and real-world conditions.
