2027 Slate Truck | Electric Blast From The Past

Slate is set to hit the scene before the end of 2026; no really! While there will technically only be one spec of vehicle rolling out of their Indiana factory it holds the potential to be many things to many people. The Slate Truck has grabbed a lot of attention and over 180,000 reservations since it was announced last year but there have been a few changes since then. First is the price tag, which we finally know will be $24,950 (not including destination fee) and it will also come with a different battery than first stated. Instead of splitting the battery strategy into a standard + extended option Slate has instead opted to increase the standard battery to 65kwh (63 usable) and boost the range from 150 to 205. This is great news for folks who didn’t want an upgrade but for those who did there’s 35 miles less to now contend with. Power has also dropped some, by about 15-20 horsepower but capacities like payload and towing have increased to 2,000 and 1,550 pounds respectively. We also finally have pricing information for the 2 most popular kits; the SUV kit will set you back $5,000 and the more stylish Fastback kit will charge a $2,000 premium ($7,000 total) for the looks. Pre-orders are officially open and the first deliveries should only be months away!
