From Torque News.
The Chevy Camaro may be heading for a comeback, but the twist is what it could be coming back with. Reports suggest GM is developing the next-generation Camaro alongside a new Buick sedan and the next Cadillac CT5, all potentially sharing the same rear-wheel-drive architecture. That means the future Camaro may have more Cadillac DNA under the skin than many fans expected.
Production is reportedly targeted for late 2027 at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, where the Camaro and CT5 could be built side by side. Even more interesting, this would mark Buick’s return to sedans in the U.S. after years of being SUV-only, making this one of GM’s most unusual product combinations in years.
Will the 2027/2028 Camaro stay a traditional coupe, become a larger GT-style car, or take inspiration from Cadillac performance sedans? Enthusiasts are already debating it, especially with rumors of V8 power and an updated Alpha platform. Drop your thoughts below: should GM keep the Camaro a pure muscle coupe, or evolve it?
