From Wheelsboy.
Most people have no idea what’s actually inside their EV battery, let alone who makes it. So when REPT Energy, a top-10 global battery manufacturer supplying cells for Volvo, Buick, Nissan, Zeekr, Wuling, MG, and some of China’s biggest commercial truck makers, asked us if we wanted to give our viewers an exclusive look inside their facility, we jumped at the chance.
This is our full battery factory tour inside one of China’s most secretive EV battery factories. What we found was an EV battery factory floor that’s 1,000 times cleaner than the average home, but as dry as the driest deserts on Earth. We got to see exactly how an LFP battery cell is made, from raw materials like LFP battery cathode slurry and ultra-thin copper foil to the finished cell that’s already powering millions of EVs on the road today.
Oh, and they’re also behind the 1.68 GWh Waratah Super Battery in Australia, one of the largest battery energy storage projects on the planet!
