Everything that went wrong in my 2025 Rivian R1T Tri Max

From Dominic Wilkerson.

2025 Rivian R1T Tri Motor Max Pack 42,000 mile review covering service visits, alignment issues, tonneau cover problems, inverter failure, recalls, fixes, and long-term ownership.

After 42,000 miles and about 16 months with my 2025 Rivian R1T Tri Motor Max Pack, I went back through every service invoice to see what actually happened. I originally thought I had not been in service that much, but once I cleaned up the duplicate PDFs and broke everything down, the list was bigger than I remembered.

In this video, I go over my real Rivian service history, including 8 unique service visits, 18 customer-requested issues or complaints, 4 Rivian field service actions, and the biggest repeat problem: alignment, steering pull, and front-end suspension issues.

This is not a Rivian hit piece. I still love the truck. I still use it for work, camping, off-road trips, search and rescue-related gear, road trips, and daily driving. But I also want to be transparent about what ownership has actually looked like with a Gen 2 R1T Tri Motor Max Pack.

Even with the service visits, the positives still outweigh the negatives for me. The truck is fast, capable, comfortable, useful, and still one of the best vehicles I have owned. But if you are looking at a Rivian R1T, R1S, or waiting for the R2, these are the real-world issues I would pay attention to.

If you own a Gen 2 Rivian R1T or R1S, let me know what your service history looks like in the comments.
