Interview w/ the World-Renown Giga Berlin Drone Pilot Tobias Lindh! Fantastic in-depth discussion!

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

This is a very special interview for me as Tobias Lindh is a legend in the Tesla drone pilot community and a big influence to me and my coverage of Giga Texas! I was fortunate to be invited to Giga Berlin by Tesla for a tour and I could not pass up the opportunity to meet and talk with Tobias!

In this in-depth interview from Tesla Giga Berlin, I had the pleasure of speaking with Tobias over two days, meeting him for dinner, taking the train to and from Giga Berlin, walk the site and then tour the factory! I loved every minute of my time with him at the factory and I learned a lot during our discussions.

Tobias is one of the most dedicated drone documentarians of the factory who has been capturing its progress for nearly 6½ years, from the very first tree clearing to the present day.

Tobias opens up about his motivations and long-standing interest in covering Giga Berlin’s construction, driven by a passion for Tesla’s vision and the engineering feat unfolding in Brandenburg. Inspired by the pioneering drone work on Giga Shanghai by Wuwa and Jason Yang.

Based on their work, he set out to provide the same consistent, high-quality aerial coverage for Europe’s Gigafactory.

With his unmatched in-depth knowledge of the entire site, Tobias discusses current factory operations, future expansion plans, and exciting new products like the Tesla Semi, Cybercab, and Optimus robots.

He also shares how he accessed important permit documents in the early days, offering rare behind-the-scenes insights into the build process.
Right before our conversation, Tobias took a factory tour, his first detailed look inside since 2024. He highlights the notable changes and advancements he observed in production, technology, and layout over the past two years.

We also explore his reaction to the worldwide audience his videos have reached and their influence on Tesla fans, engineers, sustainability advocates, and everyday viewers around the globe.

A fascinating conversation with a true veteran chronicler of Giga Berlin. Thank you, Tobias, for your incredible dedication and for sharing your insights!
