I recently had the chance to drive the new electric Mercedes CLA for a few hours, and since I have owned a Volkswagen ID.7 for the past 2.5 years, it made me wonder: which electric sedan is actually better?
Both cars target a very similar audience. They are comfortable electric sedans with strong range, good efficiency, modern technology, and solid charging performance. In this video I compare the Mercedes CLA EQ and the Volkswagen ID.7 in real-world driving.
We look at design, interior space, trunk and frunk, infotainment systems, driving comfort, suspension, steering, charging speed, efficiency and long-distance usability.
The Mercedes CLA has an 800-volt system and very fast charging, but the Volkswagen ID.7 offers excellent seat comfort, stability at high speeds and a very practical trunk. Which one wins overall?
