We drove up to the top of Fontana Dam in North Carolina and found a Beam Energy solar EV charging canopy! It looks cool, it tracks the sun, but it basically sucks. Kyle plugs his Model 3 in, and it’s limping along at 9 amps (~2 kW). We dig into PlugShare and the TVA notes: this unit is in a cellular dead zone so it defaults to 9A, and the NLX JuiceBox backend that ran these boxes largely vanished in the US!
