The AMG GLE 63 & GLS 63 have had mid-life facelifts!

It’s been three years since Mercedes last updated the cars that were originally released in 2018 & 2019 respectively, so let’s see what’s changed…

In terms of the exterior design, the cars still look relatively similar to the previous editions, with a few tweaks here and there. Up front there’s a bigger & bolder grille (which lights up at night), flanked on either side by headlights featuring massive 3-pointed stars, just like the AMG GT 4-door. The side profile on both cars is almost identical to the previous car, while the taillights feature even more 3-pointed star graphics, and as before, the four massive exhaust pipes have been retained for each car.

On the inside, there’s one key difference – the huge wraparound screen that stretches across the dash, featuring the digital dials, infotainment screen, and passenger screen! It’s the same as found in the non-AMG editions of these cars, although here there are some different graphics. The seats come with additional supports, exclusive leather, and there’s a very similar steering wheel to that found in the AMG GT.

When you peek under the bonnet, you’ll find a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, just as you did in the previous editions! However, in this instance, the engine has been given a new flat-plane crank! It’s the sort of thing you’d find in high-revving, naturally-aspirated V8s, however, don’t expect any additional power – it still produces 612hp & 850Nm, just as before.

We don’t yet know the price, but we can guarantee one thing – neither of these cars will come cheap! The cheaper option will be the GLE 63, but don’t expect the new one to cost any less than an eye-watering £140,000!!
