There haven’t been enough electric seven-seaters. For years, if you wanted a practical family EV with seven seats, your choices were surprisingly limited.
Now Skoda is finally joining the party with the all-new Peaq – its biggest electric car yet, offering up to seven seats, more than 370 miles of claimed range and a huge focus on practicality.
But has Skoda left it too late? The Peugeot E-5008 has already established itself as one of our favourite family EVs, while the new electric Mercedes GLB is shaping up to be a serious rival.
In this first walkaround, Nicola takes a detailed look around the new Skoda Peaq to see whether it has what it takes to become the go-to electric family SUV.

• Range: up to 373 miles (WLTP)
• Battery: 63kWh or 91kWh
• Power: 204hp to 299hp
• Seating: Five or seven seats
• Boot space: 299 litres (7 seats up), 890 litres (5 seats up)
• Frunk: 37 litres
• Price: expected £48,000–£56,000
The Peaq is Skoda’s new electric flagship, based on the Vision 7S concept and measuring almost 4.9 metres long. It becomes the largest EV in the Skoda range and offers both five- and seven-seat layouts, with up to 935 litres of luggage space in five-seat form. Skoda claims over 600km (373 miles) of range from the larger battery versions.
