Adam Poulton takes us on a journey through one of the strangest and most fascinating chapters in Beatles motoring history — the story of the bespoke Mini Coopers gifted to the Fab Four in the swinging sixties.
In 1965, after receiving their MBEs from Queen Elizabeth II, all four Beatles were gifted specially customised Radford Mini Coopers by manager Brian Epstein — luxury Minis built for the biggest band in the world.
Ringo Starr’s Mini carried his drum kit.
Paul McCartney’s wore Aston Martin-inspired styling.
George Harrison’s became a psychedelic icon.
And John Lennon’s… vanished.
These weren’t just cars.
They became rolling snapshots of each Beatle’s personality — from the polished elegance of Paul’s Mini to the flower-power explosion of George’s.
But over the years:
some survived…
some sold for huge sums at auction…
and one became one of the strangest missing-car mysteries in Beatles history.
This is the story of the Beatles’ Minis.
