The Ford EV We Need in America (But Can’t Have) | Bronco New Energy First Look

From InsideEVs.

Ford’s Chinese joint venture might have just built the ultimate EV for the U.S.: the Ford Bronco New Energy.

In this video, we’re getting up close with this unique, China-only SUV at the Beijing Auto Show. It’s a mid-sized, unibody EV/EREV that blends the rugged spirit of the Bronco with futuristic, family-friendly tech. With 748 miles of range on the extended-range EV (EREV) model and a starting price hovering around $32,000 USD, it begs the question: Why on Earth is Ford keeping this out of North America?

From its built-in Westfalia-style pop-up glass roof to a fully reclining interior designed for car camping, we break down everything that makes this SUV awesome—and why it might be a smash hit in the U.S.

Let us know in the comments: Would you buy an EREV Bronco if Ford brought it to the US?
