The all-new Volvo EX60 could be the sweet spot in Volvo’s growing electric SUV line-up, and in this first drive review we find out whether it really has what it takes to challenge the BMW iX3, Mercedes GLC EV and Audi Q6 e-tron.
Join Ginny for our first proper drive of Volvo’s hugely important new premium electric SUV. Built on Volvo’s next-generation Superset platform and packed with new tech, the EX60 promises long range, ultra-fast charging and the calm, understated Scandinavian design Volvo does so well.
There are three battery and powertrain options available, ranging from the rear-wheel-drive P6 with 385 miles of WLTP range, all the way up to the flagship P12 AWD with a huge 112kWh battery, 680hp and a claimed 503 miles of range. Charging speeds are equally impressive thanks to an 800V architecture, with up to 370kW DC charging capability and 22kW AC charging fitted as standard.
In this video we take a detailed look at the EX60’s design, practicality and technology, including Volvo’s new NVIDIA-powered HuginCore software system, updated Android Automotive infotainment and advanced driver assistance features. We also test what it’s like on the road, exploring the ride comfort, refinement, regenerative braking and performance of the new dual-motor setup.
Inside, the EX60 blends minimalist Scandinavian design with clever details, sustainable materials and one of Volvo’s best interiors yet, while practicality looks strong too with a large boot, spacious rear seats and a generous front trunk.
