Back from Europe! Cybercab & Model Y Prod, N Factory 4 Floor! 17 June 2026 Giga Texas Update(7:05AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cybertruck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cortex 1 & 2, Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

I’m back after a few weeks away in Europe & visiting Giga Berlin (a fantastic factory too!) so today I decided to try and get a good overall look at the activity & changes here since I was away, and there is really a lot to cover … almost too much!

In the video intro, I recap my trip to Europe, beginning with the Takeover Europe event in Flachau, Austria, then some of my short video’s about charging in Europe, “Pop-Up” Tesla Stores and loss of connectivity when crossing country borders, a big issue for Tesla owners in Europe. I also talk about my tour of Giga Berlin which also included a long-time goal of mine to meet and talk with the biggest Drone pilots of Giga Berlin, Tobias Lindh and Andreas and his brother Robert (aka Wolfpack Brothers)!

I also give my personal thanks to two people that made my trip very special, Peter Hostettler, a long time Patreon and supporter (and good friend) from Switzerland and Ondrej Bacina, the biggest Technology YouTube’er in the Czech Republic!

Some additional notes from today!

Cybercab production continues today & I think I captured an autonomously driving version without a steering wheel making a graceful arrival & then backing smoothly into a parking space on the W side of the EOL!

We see many lined up outside the E of the main factory at the exit point with “Robotaxi” on the sides & the rear hatch & for the 1st time, Cybercabs are interspersed into the regular vehicle transportation staging areas, which itself may be a good indicator that production changes are underway.

I recently was at BVB, a company in Basel, Switzerland that had a lot of great inputs as to how building, managing & scaling a fleet service like Robotaxi & how this may be one of the biggest limiting factors to the speed of deployment that nobody (but me) is talking about.

I posted that video here on X yesterday, so check that out too for more context & thoughts on what we might be seeing with Tesla

The 4680 battery cell portion of the factory was getting concrete delivered inside where I’ve observed demolition & expansion work underway to increase production capacity & this is backed up with several new permits filed over the past few days!

At the Giga Texas Test Track, we see some of it is being used now, with railed lanes, a long line of rumble strips, paint marks & cones … these are in the area where I showed a ground video yesterday of Cybercabs testing with acceleration runs. I’ve included a portion of that video in this one showing the location on the track.

Speaking of Cybercab testing, we see 7 set up along with a trailer & what seems to be a temporary dedicated testing facility until a more permanent one is completed.

The E side where the new joint venture with SpaceX Advanced Chip fab is being constructed was getting GeoPier work, while more preparations were underway to relocate active workshops & recycling yards further to the N to clear space for additional construction.

The Giga Texas Optimus Factory has made a lot of progress with groundwork, GeoPiers & now the steel superstructure which has grown to 4 Floors, at least in the sender section!

This means that with the extension work to the south to reclaim even more land to further lengthen the structure, it will have a meaningful % of the 11 million Sq Ft of the main factory, so this is truly becoming a massive factory!

Thank you for watching and I hope this has been informative, educational, and entertaining for you. If you would like, please consider supporting me via Patreon (link is in the description of this video and in the video itself) so I can continue to make and share these incredible videos.
