China just showed the world its latest sodium battery, and it might be the most important energy story nobody in the West is talking about.
We headed to SNEC Shanghai, one of the biggest energy expos on the planet, and REPT BATTERO came with a lineup designed to make lithium-ion think twice. Their new Sodium 320 cell uses sodium instead of lithium, which means safer chemistry, lower cost, and a material that isn’t sitting under a geopolitical chokehold. They also brought a 648-amp-hour cell, an AI data center energy system called AIDC, and a battery passport concept that tracks every single cell from factory floor to second life.
